“What is Public Health?” is a program and website developed by the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and was made possible by support from Pfizer Public Health. The purpose of the website is for the public to gain a better understanding of the various roles public health professionals play each day to ensure a healthy American public.

As part of the initial program, “This is Public Health” was developed. It was designed to let people know that public health affects them on a daily basis and that we are only as healthy as the world we live in.

The campaign utilizes stickers with the slogan “This is Public Health.” Piloted during National Public Health Week by public health students from 17 universities, 30,000 stickers have already been used as part of the effort by numerous organizations and individuals across the nation.

As part of the “This is Public Health” campaign, ASPH has developed the This is Public Health Toolkit, which will serve as a resource for anyone who is interested in educating others about public health issues or the field of public health. The materials in the toolkit include suggestions and templates, which target a range of individuals.

The campaign may be of particular interest to border health partners and others in the United States – México border region.
